Los Angeles Festival of Books

Hi, all:

This weekend I attended the Los Angeles Festival of Books for the first time. I’ve been meaning to go for years but somehow when it came time to go I bailed. That’s the problem of having too many choices in Los Angeles!

This year, however, as the President of Los Angeles Romance Authors and a published author, I felt it behooved me to attend. LARA was having authors sign their books and I made sure to be one of those authors. I also volunteered to help with the booth to make sure I had no wiggle room.

The event was fun. There are over a thousand booths of different kinds of books and book related industries. We were one of many and glad to be a part of it. Publishers, book stores, comic stores, fan clubs and many others were visible. There were signing areas for authors far bigger than myself and stages where people read poetry and gave classes.

Now that I’ve gone, I will go back again. In this day of fading paperback copies it is good to be reminded that some things never change. The love of reading is always with us!
