Somehow, the man was still alive.
The third horseman of the apocalypse watched the gaunt being stretch its arm toward his horse and his rider. He and his mount may have been as emaciated as the skeletal creature, but unlike him, their energy was unflagging. His horse backed away from the person, raising one hoof as though to bring it down on the man’s concave chest.
Famine patted his black steed and leaned close to his ear.
