Cool, competent Terri August is nothing like her love-crazed self of ten years earlier, obsessed with rock star Clarke Masters, who called her his stalker. But when he appears as her label’s new A&R rep, she’s shocked to find he doesn’t know her. Her logical side tells her to stay away from him, but every time she looks into those familiar emerald eyes, awareness sizzles along her nerve endings.

Clarke’s substance abuse in previous years has left holes in his memory and his life in chaos. He’s looking for redemption, not romance, but his searing attraction to Terri shatters everything he knew about desire and makes him feel alive. Uncovering her secrets and facing his demons may be his only way to a new life.

Terri watched as Clarke eyed the potential album images. She had gone to stock picture websites and pulled clip art, stuff she could use for a nominal fee.

Clarke stepped back from Terri and snorted. His warmth went with him, and the tingling dancing along her skin faded.

“What do I think? They’re boring.” He gestured to the covers.

She met Clarke’s green gaze and he returned the stare. After a moment, she dropped her eyes and nodded. “This is all we can afford. It doesn’t matter. It’s all about the downloads these days. I am not sure why we put out CDs. Cover art is irrelevant.”

“That’s untrue,” Clarke said. “There’s a movement toward great art, even if it is only seen via thumbnail. We have to make it imperative to download a song. Then we have them,” he countered, folding his arms across his chest. The gesture accentuated his strong pectorals and biceps and Terri felt a shiver go down her spine.

He’s an addict, she told herself. He’s a washed-up, former celebrity who can’t get anyone to answer his calls.

He called you his little Maine stalker.
